24th November 25
Our Form 3 to 6 girls enjoyed a memorable afternoon when England netball player Ellie Rattu joined us for a coaching session at Highbury Fields. Miss Rattu, who plays in the mid-court for the London Mavericks in the Netball Super League and made her senior England debut in 2022, spent the afternoon sharing her experience as a professional athlete.
Miss Rattu led an exciting training session focusing on movement, positioning, decision-making, and teamwork. The girls had the opportunity to apply new skills straight away in drills and shooting, with Miss Rattu offering guidance and feedback throughout.
After training, Miss Rattu spoke with our pupils about her journey from school-age netball to representing England at the international level. She answered questions about training routines, match preparation, playing in the Super League, and the challenges and rewards of high-performance sport. The pupils listened with great interest and asked thoughtful questions about her experiences.
We are grateful to Ellie for taking the time to visit and lead such an exciting afternoon for our children. Opportunities like these play an important role in encouraging children to stay active, build confidence, and develop a lifelong appreciation for sport.
