We have a three-week rota of menus for toddlers, and two weeks for babies to ensure variety. The menus are updated each term based on seasonal food availability. Everything is freshly made on-site with an emphasis on tasty foods. We have always used a local greengrocer, Austin Flowers Fruit & Veg, who delivers several times a week.
As part of its commitment to using local suppliers, The Gower School uses wholesalers 3663 and a local Tesco’s store for branded products.
The Nursery School kitchen staff are Rosario Walsh (Chef) and Marjia Ali, Monique Bukweya, Maria Perreira and Mathilde Vanturi (Kitchen Assistants).
We ask that you supply your own formula which we are happy to mix as per your instructions. As recommended by the Food Standards Agency, we give whole milk to the babies and toddlers from two and a half years and children receive semi-skimmed milk. We use only fresh organic milk.
We can introduce food to babies at their own pace and work with parents to do the same as at home.
All our purées are cooked from fresh ingredients by our school chef. We will always follow each child’s weaning programme and facilitate each stage that your baby is at.
We encourage children’s independence and can support Baby-Led Weaning as required by parents.
