Co-Curricular

The Gower School prides itself on offering a wonderful range of specialist-taught activities for children of all ages, including:

  • Sports (tennis, football, cricket, touch rugby, netball, swimming, tag rugby, quicksticks, archery, gymnastics, athletics and karate)
  • Dance (ballet, modern dance, theatre)
  • Music and Theatre (singing, two school choirs, percussion, music appreciation, instrumental lessons, drama and theatre club)

We also provide yoga, French, Chinese Mandarin, cookery, coding, jewellery making, and arts and crafts.

Our standards of music, sports and drama are extremely high and the children achieve impressive levels, and participate in concerts, events and fixtures with other schools. Our older primary children can also enjoy journalism, coding, cookery, science, and a competitive Debating Society where children learn to present rhetorical arguments towards a motion.

After School activities for each age group operate from the end of classes until 5pm, though care can be arranged until 6pm upon request. Our extra-curricular activities run both during term-time and in the school holidays.

Children staying for After School Clubs are offered a cooked tea each afternoon. Dishes such as jacket potatoes, home-made soups with rolls, pizza and pancakes are all home-cooked in our kitchen for the children who eat together in small groups.

There is also a Breakfast Club daily from 8am until classes start. Children from Lower School upwards are also able to attend a 30-minute Homework Club every day.

During the school holidays – for thirteen weeks of the year – we also operate a Holiday Fun Club which is also open to children from outside the School. Each week has an educational theme and the children make the most of being in central London with trips to museums, galleries and the theatre, as well as taking part in sporting activities.

Details of all our extra-curricular activities are displayed on the school notice board and also sent home to parents each term.

Each term, a revised timetable for After School Clubs is issued. You can see what is on offer using the links below and reserve a place for your child by emailing the school office.
