24th March 25
We are excited to celebrate the success of our Gower School mathematicians in this year’s national Primary Mathematics Challenge (PMC). Created by The Mathematical Association in 2015, the PMC is a competition that encourages mathematical problem-solving in pupils aged 9 to 11.
In February, six Form 6 pupils represented The Gower School in the finals, where they answered 25 challenging questions in 45 minutes. The test started with multiple-choice questions before moving to more difficult written problems.
We are proud to share that five of our pupils earned awards for their achievements. Four pupils received a Bronze Award, while one achieved a Gold Award by answering almost every question correctly. Only 7% of participants nationwide received a Gold Award, making this an outstanding accomplishment.
Congratulations to all our finalists and every pupil across the country who took part in this year’s Primary Mathematics Challenge. Your effort and dedication are truly inspiring!
