The ISA Art Competition is a fabulous and highly competitive showcase for outstanding artwork from young artists in independent schools across the UK. The Gower School submitted 11 artworks to this year’s London North regional competition.
We are delighted to announce that TGS achieved a record number of wins in this competition – four First Prizes, one Second Prize and two Third Prizes. Individually, a girl in Les Baleines (Forms One and Two) won First Prize in the 2D Individual Key Stage 1 category, and a boy in Les Rennes (Form Five) won First Prize in the 2D Individual Key Stage 2 category. Two former TGS children from last year’s Les Flamants (Form Six) class also won at the competition. A former Form Six boy won First Prize in the Drawing Key Stage 2 category, and former Form Six girl won two Third Prizes in both the 2D and 3D Individual Key Stage 2 categories.
For our group entries, the children of last year’s Les Hiboux (Reception) class won First Prize in the 2D Group Early Years Foundation State category, and the children of last year’s Les Baleines (Forms One and Two) class won Second Prize in the 2D Group Key Stage 1 category.
The ISA Art Competition pursues an extremely high standard of art, and all our entrants should be very proud of themselves and their work. We are excited for all four First Prize-winning artworks to progress to the national ISA Art Competition!
We would like to thank Miss Wragg, our Head of Art, who oversaw the creation of most of the submissions, and who curated and presented so many pieces for this competition. These results build upon the recognition of TGS children in the ISA Art Competition in recent years, with three entries awarded prizes in the 2021, and three entries awarded prizes in 2020.
