TGS Nursery Earns Healthy Early Years Silver Award

25th March 22

Healthy Early Years London (HEYL) is an awards scheme funded by the Mayor of London. The scheme aims to support and recognise achievements in child health, wellbeing and development in Early Years settings.

Early Years education teaches children skills to support good health and wellbeing throughout life. Early Years settings can lay the foundations for lifelong health and wellbeing as they help children prepare for school.

Earning a Silver Award means that TGS Nursery has been recognised at Silver level for activities such as supporting children to eat a healthy lunch and snacks, drink plenty of water, play outdoors, sing songs, read stories together, brush their teeth, and express their feelings.

HEYL was particularly impressed by The Gower School’s ‘insightful understanding of the impact of Covid-19 on children’, and praised ‘the high level of support shown to families’ throughout the pandemic. In addition, our nursery was lauded for their strong collaborative approach to sharing ideas and best practices.

Earning a HEYL Silver Award is a huge accomplishment, and we are so proud of the Nursery staff who made it possible!
