As part of our annual engaging and exciting Science and Engineering week, we will have baby chicks for The Gower School children to observe and investigate. To share the experience and joy of the fluffy hatchlings, we will also run interactive sessions with the chicks on Thursday 16th June 2022 for children who are due to start school in September 2023. This special session is available to children with a date of birth from September 2018 to August 2019 and gives them a chance to experience chicks first-hand. This is a great opportunity for your child to visit a big school and experience the environment including our lovely teachers. This also gives parents a preview of our school and to meet some of our brilliant primary children.
The 30-minute workshop will take the children through the life cycle of a chick and participate in some science themed art and craft activities. Please book your child’s place for a session for either 9:30am – 10:00am or 10:00am – 10:30am via our booking form by Friday 10th June. Places are limited and will be offered on a first come, first served basis. Please note that we cannot accommodate you without pre-booking and will email you to confirm your booking.
On Thursday 16th June, please bring your child to The Gower School Primary site at 10 Cynthia Street for their allotted time. All children must be accompanied by a guardian or a named member of their nursery staff. Please ensure you arrive promptly in order for us to greet you outside and take you to the session. We encourage you to be interactive throughout the session so as to support the children’s confidence in a new environment.
We look forward to an exciting morning, full of learning and fun!
