The Gower School has been a recognised Montessori school since the Montessori Evaluation and Accreditation Board launched its accreditation scheme in 2008. Accreditation means the school must have qualified Montessori staff, well-resourced Montessori classrooms, the Montessori ethos runs throughout the school, a three hour daily work cycle for children to make choices in their learning, a focus on children’s independence and a strong partnership working with parents. The Gower School underwent the re-accreditation process successfully in 2013 and 2016.
The 2016 accreditation reports about The Gower School Montessori Nursery and Primary said:”The learning and development of the children is outstanding. This includes achievement in sports and the creative arts as well as academically…Children feel motivated and challenged in a stimulating way.””Classes are managed exceptionally well at The Gower School….The ratio enables children to benefit from 1:1 and small group attention and contributes to the positive management of children’s classroom behaviour, which is exceptionally good.”
“Throughout the year, there are many opportunities for children to access the wealth of cultural and sporting experiences the local area has to offer, including music recitals and theatre trips.
