Inspection Report

Outstanding or Excellent in every area.

Independent Schools Association June 2014.

It was wonderful to welcome The Gower School into ISA membership a year ago and to now see it join the elite ranks of ISA schools that have achieved the highest inspection accolade: outstanding or excellent in every category. This is testament to the hard work of the staff and to the first-class leadership of the school, which clearly puts the pupils at the centre of all it does. It has been a pleasure to support the work of The Gower School in helping them to achieve this fabulous result.

Neil Roskilly, CEO of the Independent Schools Association.

As a member of the Independent Schools Association, The Gower School is inspected by the Independent Schools’ Inspectorate. They inspected the primary and nursery schools in June 2014 and graded the school Excellent or Outstanding in every single category.

The inspection report made the following comments about The Gower School:

Children’s views, needs and abilities are reflected in the well-prepared environment.  This helps them to feel empowered and gives them a shared sense of responsibility over their environment and experiences.

The quality of pupils’ academic and other achievements is excellent.

The warm, caring community atmosphere that pervades through the school, results in the pupils developing a strong sense of moral and social responsibility.

Excellent pastoral care systems ensure that pupils feel safe and extremely well-supported.

In the Early Years Foundation Stage, staff provide outstanding provision for children’s well-being.  Arrangements for health and safety are excellent.  The safeguarding of pupils’ welfare is of paramount concern to all staff.
