We are thrilled to share that a Form 4 pupil has been Highly Commended in the national ISA Handwriting Competition.
Her handwritten excerpt of There’s a Dragon in the Classroom by Charles Thomson impressed the judges. The competition criteria included overall neatness, legibility, spelling, punctuation, and consistency in letter formation. One judge remarked, “In this digital age, it is commendable that young people are continuing to celebrate the art of handwriting.”
This prestigious competition recognises the skill involved in handwriting. As belletrists of the past understood so well, writing by hand is more than just putting words on a page. It is a visual art which celebrates thought and character.
