Is an Investors in Children accredited quality assurance scheme developed by the Islington Early Years Development & Childcare Partnership and local providers.
The Scheme is a way of ensuring childcare provision achieve the highest standards of care and early education. The assessment procedure goes beyond the requirements for Day Care Inspection and is broader in scope than the Combined OFSTED inspection. Findings from the report included:
“The Gower School has had another successful and productive year. Their primary school has opened and so the school ls now registered to care for and educate children from three months to eleven years. A second toddler room has opened. The school has researched and put into place a Key Person System. IT work is being developed with the children. Garden improvements have continued with the laying of astro turf.”
“Staff Responsibilities Emma Gower remains as The Principal and Sandra Talton as Head of School. The new school has made considerable impact, both positive and stimulating though hard work. More children on role and a second toddler group and reception class has led to promotions.”
“On the day of my visit it was a pleasure to see the enjoyment the children took in their learning and
the enthusiasm of the staff. The rooms all remain attractive, well resourced and thoughtfully
organised. The garden area has had many Improvements over the last few years and most of the
children were out playing and making good use of a safe attractive and planned environment.”
